WHAT IS ACADEMY SOCCER?
Academy soccer is a recreational players chance to be coached by professional coaches in a specially designed academy program.
ARE ALL PLAYERS ALLOWED?
Yes, any player can join and attend an Academy.
DO ALL PLAYERS MAKE A TEAM?
No, players are hand picked by the coach and asked to join an Academy team.
HOW DO I GET ON AN ACADEMY TEAM?
By participating in an Academy program and being selected or invited by the coach of an Academy team.
WHAT IF I DON’T MAKE THE TEAM?
Then we do our best to make sure you have the necessary skills to make that next step to an Academy team by coaching the correct techniques to get you there.
I CAN STILL BE IN THE ACADEMY CANT I?
Of course! It’s our job to coach you throughout the season to improve your skills.
IF I MAKE THE ACADEMY TEAM ARE THERE EXTRA PRACTICES?
Yes, we practice together as a team. The player has 2 other sessions available ACADEMY NIGHT, where all the academy players come to hone their skills regardless of age, ability & gender and ACADEMY PLAY.
WHAT IS ACADEMY PLAY
Academy play is where ALL academy players are invited to come and play 4 on 4 street soccer. Teams are formed on the day, of all ages and genders. They may also get to play other Academies. This takes place on Sunday afternoons.
CAN I PLAY ON DIFFERENT ACADEMY TEAMS?
Yes you can play on as many teams as you like. You can move to a new team every week should you wish. We at the Junior Blues don’t recommend this but you have that option if you so decide.
CAN I PLAY BOTH ACADEMY AND RECREATIONAL SOCCER?
Yes, all Academy play and league play are on Sunday’s
WHAT AGES ARE ELIGIBLE FOR ACADEMY TEAM LEAGUE PLAY
If they are playing U8, U9 & U10 in the fall
WHERE ARE THE GAMES PLAYED?
That depends on where the team chooses to play. There are academy leagues in DALLAS, MID CITIES, PLANO and DENTON.
DO I HAVE TO PAY THE FULL AMOUNT WHEN I SIGN UP?
No, you can spread the cost over the season. We need an initial payment of $120 and the balance is due before the final month. You can of course pay the full amount if you wish.
HOW DO I SIGN UP?
Fill out a registration form, available from www.jbacademy.org , please make sure that obtain your recreational registration number. This is very important as NO player is allowed to participate in an North Texas affiliated Academy program without this. The reason is to show that you are covered by insurance and have a home Association.
